Introduction to the parlour
For me, the word ‘parlour’ conjures up somewhere warm and cosy, with soft lighting; somewhere to sit with a friend and a hot cup of tea, coffee, or whatever your favourite beverage is, eating a slice of cake, listening to the wireless, or reading a book perhaps….
To me, the parlour also summons up images of little old ladies, no-nonsense and sensible in their demeanor, yet well practiced in the mysterious art of divination, spreading out cards, reading a crystal ball, tea leaves or our palms; telling us our future, while we, with baited breath hang on to her every word, hoping to hear about our good fortune in love, money and health…

Of course, divination “the power of foreseeing, prediction…to be inspired by a god” , has been around for thousands of years and doesn’t just belong in the parlour, but that’s where I choose to keep all things divination it in my manor house J
Divination is practiced using such diverse methods as psychometry, tarot, runes, crystal balls, palmistry, I Ching, the pendulum, dowsing…it’s quite a list and each method deserves to be presented.

I will regularly present a topic on specific divination methods. If you have experience and /or a passion for one of the divination methods, please let me know, I would love to publish your blog!
In the meantime, please enjoy my blog on Ouija Boards and feel free to comment!
