Today, the Beast of Bray Road is an established part of local folklore, attracting cryptid enthusiasts and Halloween visitors alike. Some believe it is an undiscovered animal, while others remain convinced something supernatural is lurking in the countryside.

WITCHES OF PENDLE HILL: GHOST HUNTERS EXPECT A BUSY HALLOWEEN

Lancashire, England · 29 October 2026

Daily Star

Pendle Hill has long been associated with witchcraft, folklore and some of England’s darkest history. Now, ghost hunters believe the infamous landmark could be particularly active this Halloween.

Paranormal investigator Robert Pulme has reportedly noticed an increase in accounts of unusual experiences around the area in recent weeks.

The hill is closely associated with the infamous 1612 Pendle witch trials, in which twelve people were accused of witchcraft and nine were hanged.

Visitors have described feeling uneasy while climbing the hill, while local folklore includes stories of phantom monks and strange sensations. Could the area’s dark history be contributing to its reputation, or is there something else going on?

One thing’s certain: Pendle Hill has quite a story to tell.

A GHOSTLY ROOMMATE? NEW ORLEANS MANSION COMES WITH A RESIDENT SPIRIT

New Orleans, Louisiana · 26 October 2026 Only In Your State

Fancy booking a holiday with a resident ghost? A historic mansion in New Orleans’ Garden District is attracting attention for its allegedly haunted third-floor bedroom.

The Parks-Bowman Mansion is said to have a rather unusual resident: the spirit of a young girl wearing a yellow dress, believed by the owners to have died in the 1890s.

The hosts say neighbours began telling them about the girl not long after they moved into the property in 2005. Reports of sightings have continued over the years, usually around the upper porch and hallway.

Apparently, she’s considered a rather gentle presence, although not everyone has been fortunate enough to see her.

The mansion has even featured in Airbnb’s collection of supposedly haunted stays.

Would you spend a night in a bedroom with a ghostly roommate? Personally, I’d want to know whether she pays her share of the accommodation!

SHADOW FIGURE CAUGHT ON CAMERA IN 270-YEAR-OLD FARMHOUSE?

Cheshire, England · 28 October 2026

Coast to Coast AM

Our final story takes us to a centuries-old farmhouse in Cheshire, where a paranormal investigator believes she may have captured something rather unsettling.

Lottie Pschenyckyj visited the property with a friend after hearing reports that it was haunted. During their investigation, the pair reportedly heard loud bangs and other unexplained noises.

But it was only when reviewing the footage afterwards that Lottie noticed what appeared to be a shadowy figure moving away from them.

She also believes footsteps can be heard when the recording is slowed down.

Naturally, sceptics have suggested that the mysterious figure could simply be an unusual play of light and shadow.

So, ghostly visitor or camera trick? We’ll leave that one for you to decide.
